Last of the Mohicans (Classics Illustrated, Band 34) I could never get on with cooper s writing style and attempted the book several times and just gave up At least with the comic book I didn t have this difficulty Never having finished the novel I cannot say for sure but this comic book version felt a bit over abridged The graphics were somewhat primitive but as I remember the Classics Illustrated series from my childhood back in the 50 s I suppose this was acceptable at the time compare DC and Marvel of that period with the pesent day illustrators By the way the movie is an excellnt rollercoaster romp but in the oldtime Hollywood tradition of only the title and personae bear any relationship with the original I think the term is based on , worthwhile nonetheless HI GOOD ILLUSTRATED CLASSIC,THANKS. As with all Classics Illustrated, a fun way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon for adults re living their youth and an excellent way to introduce children to the classics of modern literature. l keep meaning to read the original classic books l purchased this version to tie me over till l get round toreading the original books Quite well done, glossy paper than the original copies if l rememberrightly The story is not quite the same as the 1936 and 1992 feature films but obviously like theoriginal story Recommended. The book was a present for my 10 year old son as an introduction to the original novel, he is keen now to read the full version, Highly recommended for this purpose. Great price fast delivery Feni Cooper s tale of Hawkeye and Chingachgook Part of his Leatherstocking Tales of the great Frontier Classics Illustrated tells this wonderful tale in colorful comic strip form, providing an excellent introduction for younger readers Also includes theme discussions and study questions good Overall size was smaller than the original classics and the paper quality was not like the rag of the original comics dense and shiny. A great story told well as a classic comic Really brings the story to life The movie version with Wes Studi is a must see if you are a fan of this story.
